The subject of Gifts of the Spirit is one of the most misunderstood doctrines of scripture. Paul started his discourse of spiritual gifts by saying, “now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, would not have you been ignorant” (1 Corinthians 12:1), and he concluded his discourse by saying, “but if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant” (1 Corinthians 14:38). Paul seems to imply that a trend was birthed then, that continues today, which is, the simpler and more detailed the truths of God are, the more we are in danger of being ignorant of them.

Evidence is presented in modern day kingdom practice, that has proven to be the polar opposite of what took place in the ancient Pilgrim Church. For we have seen that the Gifts of the Spirit were manifested in all the Old Testament ages, with the exception of the Gifts of Tongues and the Interpretation of Tongues. Transversely, the Gifts of Tongues have become the most predominant Gift of the Holy Spirit purported to be exhibited in the Ecclesia. However, there is no evidence of the Interpretation of Tongues being exhibited. How do we reconcile that?

It begins with the Baptism of the Spirit…

Everything in existence, partakes of its own nature, powers, attributes, and characteristics that are germane to its particular species. Fish partake of all the powers and traits of its own kind; birds do the same. Therefore, how can humanity be different? If the offspring of a fish can swim and live in water, and a bird can fly, then it is acceptable to presume that it would be a miracle for a fish to climb a tree, or a bird to breathe underwater. Likewise, it must be factual that if man is born of God spiritually, then by some measure, we inherit powerful characteristics of God’s nature. Then it can be concluded that humanity should manifest a supernatural nature, through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and through faith, in the name of Jesus Christ and his atonement. God has provided the baptism in the spirit and the gifts of the spirit for such a manifestation to take place in humanity. If we are careful not to defile or misrepresent them.

In it, we will profile through this in-depth study, that if God has repeatedly demonstrated his will through the prophets, through Jesus Christ, and through early believers, then he can demonstrate it in the modern-day church by virtue of the fact that He has promised this power to every believer, leaving us no excuse for ignorance concerning operating in these gifts.
